ABOUT PETER DANKO
Cover Artist
Peter Danko is a groundbreaking artist, designer,
maker, and inventor whose work is reshaping the
boundaries of art and design. Aside from making the
conductors platform you see in front of you, his pieces
are housed in iconic museum collections like MoMA,
the Smithsonian, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art,
his innovative creations are in a league of their own.
What sets him apart? His relentless drive to reinvent
how things are made. Every piece he creates pushes
the limits of technique, process, and structure—often
involving repurposed materials to breathe new life
into old forms.
But here's the real kicker: Before 2005, he wasn't particularly inspired by music.
But once he started drawing musicians at open mic nights, a spark ignited. The
rhythms and melodies of music became his creative fuel, and for the first time,
he felt a deep, unshakeable joy drawing to the music. This breakthrough led
him down an exhilarating path, eventually forging a powerful connection with
the York Symphony Orchestra. Today, that collaboration isn’t just enriching his
art—it’s transformed his life.
