Dance It Forward
LORI GARLING, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
At Dance It Forward, our mission is simple yet
powerful: bringing all people to dance. We are
committed to providing the highest level of
instruction, elite performances, and meaningful
outreach activities that inspire a lifelong love of the
performing arts.
Excellence in Dance Education
As the region’s leading dance institution, we offer
professional training across a variety of genres
with a strong emphasis on technique, artistry, and
personal growth. Our structured programs include:
*The School of Ballet – Classical training that builds grace, strength, and discipline.
*The School of Commercial Dance – Cutting-edge styles for dancers pursuing
careers in entertainment or dancing for passion.
*The School of Early Childhood – Introducing young dancers from ages 18 mo and
up to movement and music in a fun, nurturing environment.
*Adult Dance Classes – Because dance is for everyone, at every stage of life!
Performance & Opportunity
Through the Greater York Youth Ballet and our performing companies, we
provide dancers with elite stage experiences while bringing high-quality dance
productions to our community. One of our greatest accomplishments is helping
high school students gain admission into top university dance programs, many
with scholarships. Our focus on technique and artistry ensures that our dancers are
well-prepared for college programs, professional auditions and beyond.
A Thriving, Inclusive Dance Community
We believe dance should be accessible to all, regardless of financial means. Our
outreach programs and financial aid ensure that everyone has the opportunity
to experience the joy of movement. Whether training for a professional career or
dancing for personal enjoyment, we are here to support every dancer’s journey.
For 54 years, we have shaped outstanding dancers and will continue to inspire the
next generation of dance artists. At Dance It Forward, we are more than a dance
school—we are your dance experts, your creative home, and your stage for limitless
